Bathroom

Mr and Mrs Bridge

Lockdown made a lot of people look at how they can make improvements to their homes. The request for this room was to install a shower room in a bedroom, the client didn’t want to lose too much space from the bedroom so initial thought the bathroom would need to be to the left of the horizontal beam. After lots of initial concepts and measuring of heights, we came up with a design that everyone was happy with, both practically and visually.

We built a wall in the centre of the room which created a central point in the bedroom, on the bathroom side we locked into the space a sliding shower enclosure with anti slip shower tray, tiled in the Opal Pale Emerald colour. To maximise the storage space above the basin area a semi-recessed mirrored cabinet was installed, this meant that the areas behind the basin which otherwise would have been a void was used without the visual of a dominating wall cabinet.

To avoid the bathroom looking utilitarian if it was fully tiled we added in some fun fish wallpaper, some would say the dark tones wouldn’t work in this area as there is no natural light but we completely disagree the dark accent colours in the wallpaper, radiator and vanity unit make the tiles appear brighter giving a pop of colour.
